Despite Yahoo drama, Microsoft forges ahead with search
Microsoft is pushing ahead with programs to spread out its endeavor and Internet hunt offers even as remains unsure and could acquire uglier.

Microsoft is also prepping a new release of its Live Search online offering, code-named Rome, which was revealed in an SEC

"There are a batch of moving pieces here," said Chris Swenson, an analyst with NPD Group, about Microsoft's recent moves in

Despite this, Microsoft's program for FAST, the acquisition of which should be finalized in April or May, looks to be taking
shape.
On Wednesday, FAST's Zia Zaman, executive director frailty president of planetary selling for the Oslo, Norway-based company, unveiled
a new class of software system that fast is developing called interaction management, and a new merchandise under that umbrella called
the fast Personalization Framework. The model adds the type of personalization engineering establish on consumer Web sites,

Zaman said this sort of personalization, which fast acquired through its purchase of San Francisco-based AgentArts, could

said.
"There is a batch of cool information within the four walls" that research workers may not even cognize they're looking for until it

Once the Microsoft acquisition closes, fast will move as a wholly owned subordinate of Microsoft and keep much of its current

Despite the second filing, Microsoft won't admit Rome's existence. Through an e-mail from its public dealings firm, the
company said it won't notice on "speculation about internal codification names."
NPD's Swenson said that if the Yokel trade doesn't travel through, Microsoft could take to utilize the fast acquisition to bolster
not only its endeavor hunt offers but also its Internet search. If the trade makes travel though, it will go more than complicated
as to which hunt engineering will be applied where, he said.
Despite the downside of having to compound so many hunt technologies, buying Yokel would offer Microsoft a host of new opportunities
to spread out both its Internet and endeavor hunt efforts, Swenson added.
Zaman said Microsoft and fast are still ironing out exactly where -- exterior of SharePoint and a standalone endeavor search
offering -- FAST's engineering will be set to use. Enhancing Live Search is a possibility, he said, but there are no specific
programs for that yet.
